Each of our Practitioners is uniquely trained and experienced in supporting postpartum families. Whether your struggle is debilitating or minor, we believe that you should be entitled to quality care. In addition to individual appointments, both our practitioners and our MOSS family provide classes, training, and community building events which are meant to help you build relationships, knowledge, and confidence. We are not meant to be on this journey alone. We hope you join ours.
Maybe like you do right now. So I did what we all do in those times of need, I turned to the internet. After typing in “sushi delivery” to secure lunch, I searched “support place for postpartum women”. The results made me angry—angrier than I had been at my husband while crowning. Fill out baby book—Select a pediatrician—Report to insurance—Plan your will.
I didn’t know a lot, but I knew paperwork was not the f*cking answer.
How are sleep-deprived parents, who are attempting to master caring for a whole human supposed to thrive when all they are given are to-do lists? There was so much focus on birth and no resources for everything that comes after delivery. When did all the focus become birth and not nurturing the parents after the delivery?
It was from this burst of primal rage, that MOSS was born.
I believe the most important trimester of all the trimesters is the fourth one. Nurturing parents, or nurturing people in general is not something our culture does well.
We are here to change that.
I know in my soul that when people are cared for, supported, and nurtured, they support and nurture others. I have watched more than 50 babies arrive on this planet, and they have all been miraculous, but what is even more of a miracle to me are the parents who have been born.
